Just because drug companies take advantage of knowledge obtained through charitable work doesn't mean the charitable work isn't worth it. Anyone is welcome to use the results from these studies as they see fit. Don't like it? Start your own drug company and see how long you can produce the discovered cure without charging people for it.




Consider that vaccines are traditionally derived from the blood of an individual who has survived the illness in question, it doesn't surprise me, or I dare say many others here, that a disease transmitted by contaminated blood could be transmitted by something helpful made from blood. In that way, vaccines can be a lot like transfusions, which is why there are safe-gaurds and alternative manufacturing processes today. Just because a major source of HIV infection may or may not be something man produced doesn't mean we shouldn't do something to try and stop it. That's like saying dumping toxic waste into the water supply caused cancer, but oh well, it's there now, move on and don't worry about treating the cancer or stopping the waste dumping.




I'm really sick of seeing oil companies slammed for record profits. The dollar amount for profits doesn't tell the whole story. The truth of the matter is that oil companies are making the same percentage marginal profits that they have been for years. The catch is that demand and costs are way up. What's a percentage of a higher number? It's still the same percentage, but the exact numerical value is a higher number. That's not profit mongering, that's mathematics and economics doing what they've done for centuries. Supply and demand, and a little simple multiplication. Learn it. Oh, and of course, never mind that many of those major oil companies are reinvesting their profits into alternative and green energy research. Nope, that doesn't mean anything at all.

I am HIV+ and i have posted on this thread before. It makes me so angry that people can believe the rubbish that is out on the net.

AIDS is caused by HIV. I am not AIDS+!!!! I am having a bad time at the moment and reading this winds me up. I thank all of the people on this thread who have told this idiot the truth.

If others where to read this they could abandon the project as well.
