Got my new CPU cooler installed. Pictures later. biggrin


Looks like it should work with the spiral heat pipes. Are you saying you get 19C below the stock cooler on high?

I tried one of the Zalman 7700CU coolers on a D925 and it only lowered the temp 5C over the stock cooler on high. Needless to say, I was disappointed. I'd consider the 9700 if your temps are accurate. They certainly are quality, if nothing else. (the no lapping comment)

BTW, what's the rotation speed on high?


@Jonathan: Yes I used Arctic Silver 5. Line method.

@Gunner: Yes 19 C cooler than the stock. Rotation speed ranges from 1250 - 2800 RPM

I wouldn't recommend buying it. It's too expensive. You might as well get a Tuniq Tower for that price

Indeed. Xigmatek, Tuniq Tower, and OCZ Vendetta 2 gives the best bang for your buck.

For a little improvement get Ultra 120 Extreme but it's a high price.

I'm off to the ER because of my cellulitis again. Pretty sure I'll be having a stay in the hospital again with it. Leaving my machines running. Hopefully I won't be in for too long, but long enough to get rid of the cellulitis. Getting quite tired of the pain.
