Just goes to show that a well designed case with tons of fans works really really really well!

A chink in your logic, master Figdor.
A well designed case doesn't need tons of fans to work really, really, really well.

True, but a crappy case won't have room for tons of fans in the first place (see my old alienware for proof). Ergo, a well designed case does have room for tons of fans, but a masterfully designed case doesn't even need them.

In my opinion you always needs fans. A case itself is nothing but a box of aluminum. The case fans create a pattern of air flow that helps bring cool air in and carry out the air from the components. Putting too much fan disrupts the proper air flow, causing components to heat up.

A proper designed case has good good air flow pattern. smile
