Graphics ? What graphics...?

I am running BOINC 5.10.8 on Edubuntu 7.10 and curious about the "Show Graphics" button on the "Tasks" page. Nothing happens when I click that. What is the a process to enable graphics?

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

It works on my kubuntu 7.10 but I'm using the latest version. 5.10.45.
Try upgrading.

Install the client first then the manager.

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

Hi Brink,
I am now running Edubuntu 8.04 and the 5.10.45 agent and still no graphics. Tell me, are the graphics like the line graphs on the staitics page .. or are they worth 'searching for'?

Thanks,
JQ

Using "add/remove" packages from the Applications menu in Edubuntu.

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

If graphics are unavailable, usually there is a notice on startup. Please check the messages tab, right at the beginning.

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

Below are the startup messages from BOINC manager but I do not see any obvious references to graphics. The latest NVDIA drivers are installed on the machine.

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

Okay.

And is the graphics button grayed out, or does it simply not do anything? You have to select a task for the button to become available.

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

I select a task, like for instance Help Conquer Cancer and the Show Graphics button goes from grey to bold. Then I click on Show Graphics and nothing appears to happen.

Re: Graphics ? What graphics...?

Actually when I click the Show Graphics the Orange highlight on the task turns grey.
