I want a 54 core machine.
----------------------------------------Now, if you hit that Advanced View button right bottom and visit the Task area, are all 5 or 54 actively counting up CPU time, or is one or more in "waiting to run" state (last column)

It's a bit awkward but there is the 'Advanced View' words right bottom of your screen print. If you mouse over those words it show a little pop-up Hit the words and you get to a bigger screen (sometimes it small so expand it).

Alex, you will see there is no green dot next to one of the tasks. That means it isn't running.
So, only 4 running - everything is working fine. |

I don't know, how it's called in english, in german it's the state "verdrängt"... |

"Preempted" (although I like the synonyms you suggest).

You'll be surprised how many wont be seeing a green dot.... reminds me of your Interface improvement thread in the chat room.... introduce some embossing for points where one has links

Alex, you will see there is no green dot next to one of the tasks. That means it isn't running. This is a print screen after BOINC finished one of the BETA tasks: There was indeed a green blinking LED and the TIME REMAINING showed 00:00 although the progress bar moved up from 0 > 100% . . . strange . Now it finished one BETA tasc and looks like got a regular one and went normal again with only 4 tasks, 1 task for each of my cores. So, only 4 running - everything is working fine. oh, thanks man, that was it. I THINK THE IMPROVEMENT IN THE NECT BOINC VERSION MUST BE THIS: GREEN POINT for WORKING and RED POINT for NON WORKING. Btw, what "preemptied means ?

Thought that Dr. David Anderson (the chief BOINC developer) had abolished the 'preempted' word, but it means that an other process took over which BOINC schedules to happen all the time, particular if running different projects.
----------------------------------------Merriam-Websters explains the word: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/preempted (found that Babelfish makes 'verdrängt' into 'displaced'.... one sees this behavior allot on the German Autobahn, im Stau ;>)
