Linux install without X11?

Hi folks,

I'd like to install BOINC on my VPS which does not have any windowing manager installed. I'd like to keep it that way (no X11). Is there an alternative?

Yes, BOINC runs just fine without graphics.

Ideally, set it up to run as a daemon, then use boinc_cmd to control it.

If you use a package manager, look for the boinc-client package, and it will set up the daemon for you. If not, I'm sure you can set it up manually.

A How-To to setup BOINC as a daemon on *nix can be found here.
