Hi
----------------------------------------Recently installed BOINC WCG 5.10.45 and get the following messages: 4/14/2008 8:19:09 AM|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 193437 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks 4/14/2008 8:19:15 AM|World Community Grid|Scheduler request failed: Failure when receiving data from the peer I've tried a "reset project", even go as far as removing and attaching once again to WCG. I've gone into my WCG settings to change which project I wish to participate, to see if that would make a change. But so far no luck To test the communication I was able to add the Einstein@Home project and get work packages downloaded and running on the client. Anybody have a clue? First thought is a proxy in between. Any? The difference is that WCG is the only project using port 443 secure transmission which needs to be able to get out through firewalls and proxies.

Sekerob, I have had the same issue and yes we have a proxy server in between. I have read other posts about having a proxy in-between and getting the BOINC agent to work, and I have tried everything I could find. Have there been any cases where BOINC has worked when having to go through a proxy and/or firewall. If so, could you point me to the most recent documentation so I can be sure that I have tried that before bothering you guys with it.
Cheers, |

Hello Torgo,
Several new FAQs have just been added regarding proxies: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewSearch.do?searchString=proxy Let us know if any of these suggestions help. Tedi |

Okay, the next link goes to a wiki page explaining the setup of a configuration file and a parm that needs to be added with 1 of 4 choices (item at very bottom).
----------------------------------------http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/ClientMessages line needs to go into the '<options>' section of the cc_config.xml file. Please confirm if this resolves the problem. [Edit: Never mind.... duplication of effort Thanks Tedi, was not concious that WCG also had new help added on same.] [Added: And there i forgot to have posted an FAQ in February https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=18585 ]

I went through the steps outlined in the FAQ to determine the proxy settings and change the cc_config.xml and now I can get work units.
Thanks! |

I went through the steps outlined in the FAQ to determine the proxy settings and change the cc_config.xml and now I can get work units. I had the very same problem here, for me the option "gss-negotiate" did the job. Thanks ! :)
