Constant Network Traffic.

I've just downloaded and installed the latest Bionic agent. Zone Alarm now indicates almost constant network traffic - even when the agent indicates "Paused: User active" or if I select "Snooze" - yet the Task Manager shows "system Idle at +97%. Hmmmm. If I exit the BONC client, network activity drops to zero (normal). I'm running XP/SP2 with a 1.7Gh proc, 512 M Ram, 93 GB hard drive (67 GB free).

Thanks in advance for any advise. Steve G.

Re: Constant Network Traffic.

Hi Stone Gronemeyer,

We just yesterday concluded the 5th installment discussing the ZA showing constant net traffic. For sake, pull the internet cable to proof it's not. It's only ZA reporting localhost RPC traffic. The Vista version of ZA and other brands allow to switch off localhost loopback reporting in the system tray icon. Cannot but ask to learn to live with it or switching off the icon animation.... BOINC needs to 'talk'. If you install BOINC as a service (an offered option) and not launch the BOINCmgr you wont see it at all.

Re: Constant Network Traffic.

Yes - I pulled the neetwork cable and ZA continued to report traffic.
I'l live with it! Thanks, Steve G.
