The last period batch, cycle 27 went out 1-2 days ago and viewing one quorum 10 detail in a member post, it took about 90 seconds to find customers for the 820 there were to disseminate. Maybe you manage to catch a backup repair job if one or the other fails, but reading the speed of your PC, it's going to be an uphill battle to be there at the right place and right second when one will be going into the feeders.

I'll abandon AC@H and return to DDD-T. I presume I'll get the DDD-T badge when BOINC thinks I've clocked up 14 days' CPU time on this project?

You haven't been reading the answer in several other threads about last week's change. WCG awards an AC@H badge for 1 day of runtime (not for 1 workunit, not for 14 days) now. Time's a'wastin'. Other projects including DDD-T still require 14 days of runtime for a badge.

AC@H was changed to give a badge after only one day of processing. If you don't have one, there's a little more time to work on it. The last fortnight's work should be going out soon. After you kindly provided the above information, I ensured that the DDD-T WU that I had running was finished as quickly as possible and it finished yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not realize that the AC@H WUs were going to "sell like hot-cakes" and I missed the boat. BTW, I don't understand what is meant by "Time's a 'wastin'". Clearly, I need to spend more time reading the forum threads! JPC |

Time's a wastin' means that AC@H may already be sending out the last batch of work in the first phase. If you want a badge now instead of waiting several more months for phase 2, it is time to hurry.

According to Sekerob a few posts earlier in this thread, "The last period batch, cycle 27 went out 1-2 days ago and viewing one quorum 10 detail in a member post, it took about 90 seconds to find customers for the 820 there were to disseminate. Maybe you manage to catch a backup repair job if one or the other fails, but reading the speed of your PC, it's going to be an uphill battle to be there at the right place and right second when one will be going into the feeders".
I'll wait for phase 2. JPC |

That's true, but it sometimes takes a bit of manipulation. I set the network time to a small number with 3 days of reserve work. I first got 3 days of DDD-T to keep the computers busy ... then changed the project to AC@H only for 3 days. Repeat. I picked up a few here and there. Because of the rarity, there are still no guarantees.

This seems like a great idea. I'm pretty much a newbie to all this, maybe it's not in the spirit of the grid but I can't wait to get badges! As it's already been said it's really hard to see how I'm doing. Surely this wouldn't be hard to integrate into the already extension stats we can see. I run BOINC on several PCs with my username so it would be time consuming to add up all the tasks I've run my looking at the logs. Keep up the good work, I've tried to get my friends at uni (I study biochemistry so it's pretty relevant stuff!) to join in and use the Facebook application. Unfortunately you have to still manually update your stats; I suppose this is something to bring up on another thread...
