Hi guys,
----------------------------------------One of my rigs isnt connecting to the server to recieve or send me out tasks to do. Its telling me I have to wait 24 hours before trying again Is anyone else experiencing problems? My other rig seems fine and connects no problem. Nothing has changed with the rig I'm currently trying to get to update/upload my tasks.. I've tried clicking retry now and nothing is seeming to be happening. Has anyone got any thoughts?? A few thoughts:
----------------------------------------1. Post a good size of the message log of one of your machines, so we can read the sequences of events.... takes the guessing out of the game a whole lot. 2. If the messages have any form of quota statement, go to the Result Status page to check if you've been returning bad results THAT..... 3. Could be caused by a AV definition update.... what's the brand? 4. Try booting the router/modem combo.... you're posting so something is getting thru on port 80. Port 443 is the one that is used to initialize secure comms. All is well here and work keeps trickling in as jobs complete. 3/9/2008 12:33:52 PM|World Community Grid|Computation for task faah3195_SulfathiazoleBr_MIN_xMut_md16170_02_1 finished 3/9/2008 12:33:52 PM|World Community Grid|Starting dddt0401k0648_ZINC00862570-0000_00_1 3/9/2008 12:33:53 PM|World Community Grid|Starting task dddt0401k0648_ZINC00862570-0000_00_1 using dddt version 515 3/9/2008 12:33:55 PM|World Community Grid|Started upload of faah3195_SulfathiazoleBr_MIN_xMut_md16170_02_1_0 3/9/2008 12:33:55 PM|World Community Grid|Started upload of faah3195_SulfathiazoleBr_MIN_xMut_md16170_02_1_1 3/9/2008 12:33:59 PM|World Community Grid|Finished upload of faah3195_SulfathiazoleBr_MIN_xMut_md16170_02_1_0 3/9/2008 12:34:01 PM|World Community Grid|Finished upload of faah3195_SulfathiazoleBr_MIN_xMut_md16170_02_1_1 3/9/2008 12:34:06 PM|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. I think it might have been a problem with my AVG setup, but I couldnt see why. I have now managed to get it back working so thankfully, tasks are coming through now
I've included a small bt of text from the messages tab just so that it shows its working again 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Starting BOINC client version 5.10.30 for windows_intelx86 09/03/2008 10:39:37||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Libraries: libcurl/7.17.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8e zlib/1.2.3 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Data directory: C:\Program Files\BOINC 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Processor: 2 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6] 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Processor features: fpu tsc pae nx sse sse2 mmx 09/03/2008 10:39:37||OS: Microsoft Windows XP: Professional Edition, Service Pack 2, (05.01.2600.00) 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Memory: 2.00 GB physical, 3.85 GB virtual 09/03/2008 10:39:37||Disk: 30.00 GB total, 25.28 GB free 09/03/2008 11:53:28|World Community Grid|Scheduler request succeeded: got 3 new tasks 09/03/2008 11:53:28|World Community Grid|Message from server: Resent lost result X0000042681100200412011035_1 09/03/2008 11:53:28|World Community Grid|Message from server: Resent lost result faah3209_ZINC01636151_xMut_md00070_00_0 09/03/2008 11:53:28|World Community Grid|Message from server: Resent lost result X0000042710723200412081526_1 09/03/2008 11:53:28|World Community Grid|New host venue: home 09/03/2008 11:53:28||General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 04-Mar-2007 18:24:01) 09/03/2008 11:53:28||Host location: home 09/03/2008 11:53:28||General prefs: using separate prefs for home 09/03/2008 11:53:28||Preferences limit memory usage when active to 2046.42MB 09/03/2008 11:53:28||Preferences limit memory usage when idle to 2046.42MB 09/03/2008 11:53:28||Preferences limit disk usage to 9.31GB 09/03/2008 11:53:30|World Community Grid|Started download of wcg_hcc1_img_5.20_windows_intelx86 09/03/2008 11:53:30|World Community Grid|Started download of hcc1_image01_5.20.tga 09/03/2008 11:53:32|World Community Grid|Finished download of hcc1_image01_5.20.tga 09/03/2008 11:53:32|World Community Grid|Started download of hcc1_image02_5.20.tga 09/03/2008 11:53:35|World Community Grid|Finished download of hcc1_image02_5.20.tga 09/03/2008 11:53:35|World Community Grid|Started download of hcc1_image03_5.20.tga 09/03/2008 11:53:37|World Community Grid|Finished download of wcg_hcc1_img_5.20_windows_intelx86 09/03/2008 11:53:37|World Community Grid|Finished download of hcc1_image03_5.20.tga Sorry for the long post But thank you for the help and reply I'll remember that for future problems (but hopefully I wont have to use it!!) ![]() |

Okay good, please add [RESOLVED] to your opening post title for the next who comes along with the similar/identical issue. AVG has not been previous reported as a spoiler, but there's always a 1st time.
----------------------------------------Curiosity... that CPU 6600 is a Duo or a Quad? If 4 core, why limiting to 2? Temp issues? Maybe because it hangs on one of the device profiles that has 2 specified because you mentioned multiple devices? If so, you can elect to create additional profiles school, work, home and specify more cores. The default limit is 16. ttyl

No worries, will do :)
Its only a Dual Core at the moment, but its running a full 1Ghz over standard clock and its causing me no worries ![]() I'll be upgrading to a quad core (possibly a QX9650) but we'll have to see as I have 3 other rigs to build before then ![]() |
