confused [Resolved] Not connecting to server... :(

Hi guys,

One of my rigs isnt connecting to the server to recieve or send me out tasks to do.
Its telling me I have to wait 24 hours before trying again crying

Is anyone else experiencing problems? My other rig seems fine and connects no problem. Nothing has changed with the rig I'm currently trying to get to update/upload my tasks.. crying

I've tried clicking retry now and nothing is seeming to be happening.

Has anyone got any thoughts??

Re: Not connecting to server... :(

A few thoughts:

1. Post a good size of the message log of one of your machines, so we can read the sequences of events.... takes the guessing out of the game a whole lot.

2. If the messages have any form of quota statement, go to the Result Status page to check if you've been returning bad results THAT.....

3. Could be caused by a AV definition update.... what's the brand?

4. Try booting the router/modem combo.... you're posting so something is getting thru on port 80. Port 443 is the one that is used to initialize secure comms.

All is well here and work keeps trickling in as jobs complete.

Re: Not connecting to server... :(

I think it might have been a problem with my AVG setup, but I couldnt see why. I have now managed to get it back working so thankfully, tasks are coming through now smile

I've included a small bt of text from the messages tab just so that it shows its working again smile

[RESOLVED] Not connecting to server... :(

Okay good, please add [RESOLVED] to your opening post title for the next who comes along with the similar/identical issue. AVG has not been previous reported as a spoiler, but there's always a 1st time.

Curiosity... that CPU 6600 is a Duo or a Quad? If 4 core, why limiting to 2? Temp issues? Maybe because it hangs on one of the device profiles that has 2 specified because you mentioned multiple devices? If so, you can elect to create additional profiles school, work, home and specify more cores. The default limit is 16.

ttyl

Re: [RESOLVED] Not connecting to server... :(

No worries, will do :)

Its only a Dual Core at the moment, but its running a full 1Ghz over standard clock and its causing me no worries smile

I'll be upgrading to a quad core (possibly a QX9650) but we'll have to see as I have 3 other rigs to build before then smile
