Think the answer by Didactylos stands.
----------------------------------------Is that client configured to run 2 processes in parallel or just 1 core? The order of #1 and #2 seems 'weird'. (link corrected in earlier post)

two dualcores = 4 cores
how can i configure, that only 1 or 2 tasks are being in work at the same time? i think 4 are too much for 256ram + shared ram (or something like that) it's a linux client |

BOINC 5.10 wil automatically manage the number of concurrent jobs based on memory permissions. Running HCC jobs should fit 4 in if you allowed 100%. If they don't, 1 or more will show "Waiting on Memory" in the Tasks (Aufgaben) window of BOINCMgr until one of the other running jobs finishes or makes space.
----------------------------------------As for CPU cores, the limit can be set in the Advanced (Extras) menu >Preferences > Processor tab.

DrSeltsam, I repeat: run BOINC on your own computer. Running it on a shared computer is a) ill advised, b) illegal and c) often doesn't work.
World Community Grid do not allow you to run BOINC on computers you do not own. I asked my own hosting provider what they would say to someone trying to run BOINC on their shared hosting. This is what they said: "No". Unless, that is, you are prepared to pay for a dedicated machine to run your VPS on! |
