OpenPandemics - Covid19 Project is now up and running! I'm hoping it's faster on Linux than Win10.

It also runs on Android


Cool. Based on time to completion, I'm seeing 20% faster in Linux than Win10.

Is your android device an old tablet or cell phone?

Linux @ 2.8GHz I'm getting 2.3hrs per OPN job
Win10 @ 3.4GHz I'm getting 2.5hrs per OPN job


Not exactly an apples to apples comparison b/c I have Xeon CPUs in the Linux PC and Ryzen CPUs in the Win10 PCs, but back of the envelope it seems that Linux is 20% faster, i.e. ratio of clock speeds. So far, I haven't seen any confirmation of what I'm seeing on the WCG forum, so who knows.

UPDATE: another user with a dual boot linux/win10 machine is seeing zero time difference between Win10 and Linux running OPN1 jobs, so my experience must be due to some idiosyncratic issues specific to my setup . . . oh well. Fair enough.
