While I remember it .... devilish crying laughing I'll try. LOL!
Sorry, I should have phrased that somewhat gentler, old boy wink
Mousie is that special. She always was and still is. wink
Yes, she is. Do you still 'see' her?

See her? Only at the usal forums back then (here, our old forum and at the DC Zome several years ago). Time REALLY does fly. It almost races by the older you get. When that happens, it's time for a Holiday/Vacation) to reset your circadian ryhthm

Re: Team Andrax, The Great International Team!

What happened to your team Forum, Johnny Cool?
Ours disappeared probably as a consequence of a merger and aquisition move or the like. It’s sad, because we had a lot of good memories stored there. TLD, who was our badge master, had been wise enough to save our badges on his own computer as well.

That circadian circle is quite interesting. It gives the answer to more than one thing I have wondered about. It raises some questions as well. You are in Colorado, so you don’t feel the length of day vary as much as I do in Denmark with white nights and seven-hour days in December. That must mess up that rythm.

This is not Denmark, but Petrograd, Leningrad, St. Petersburg - take your pick ... but not all that northerly from Denmark.

Have you been there recently? What did you see?
I would think there is more to see than a week-ends worth, don't you find?
Did you go with a group - I'm getting at the limitations with visa formalities. You cannot easily visit on an individual basis, can you?

I was there back in 1972 - actually over the March 8th weekend, the International Women's Day, which is taken seriously at that latitude. We stayed at Hotel Astoria, the one that Adolf Hitler had designated for his residence ... the waiter stared my-then-husband's very nice shirt off his back, and we were stalked through the dark narrow streets by young men whispering 'jeans' and 'cowboy pants' in hoarse voices. The food was something you ate in order not to go hungry, you never wanted another pivo (beer) but they were good at tea.
We took a good deal of photos without having a Kodak 36 mm in the camera d oh Had to buy a picture book.

I have to admit you made me feel like a fool, Johnny Cool.
My knowledge of the above is zilch. KLiKed your link, though, and saw an episode promising "Bourdain enjoys caviar, pickled herring and vodka as he rolls through the dark birch forests of the "real" Russia."
Aha! They can keep the caviar sprinkled on the blinis, I would like the pickled herring and vodka on that midnight train to St. Petersburg.
From where?
Where do I board?
Will they have to change the undercarriages of the train wagons?
I must say that the range of food offered in that dining car looked considerably more appetizing than what I remember eating in Leningrad and Moscow.

From the very top of the cupola of Hotel Astoria's impressive neighbor St. Isaac's Cathedral hung a Foucault Pendulum which should enable you to detect the rotation of the Earth.
Everybody but me claimed to be able to do and understand that sad

Re: Team Andrax, The Great International Team!

Hi Carpet Rodent!
Thank you for liking the pictures I post.
Where in the world are you?
I have a feeling you are in South Africa, but I may mix you up with someone else.

Ola, Johnny Cool cool
A couple of days ago I asked you this:
How would you like to be a tour guide in Colorado Springs for at least three Base Campers if we come visiting for some five days, Johnny Cool?
but as happened with my job application for a migrant worker position a couple of months ago, it went unnoticed sad

Well, we decided to act on our own intuition, so we'll do our best to stage a Base Camp trek of 10 days' duration starting today. One purpose is to test what Base Camp can do against a super team like Andrax. We have to get in shape for September's Grand Galla SNURK Base Camp trek. We have free tickets for any of your team mates who would like to honor SNURK at that time ... if anyone feels like practicing Base Camping before that he's welcome any time, of course

If you don't have the time or energy to guide us around in Colorado and Colorado Springs, we'll hire a tour guide and push the charge on you biggrin
Noooo, let's help each other.
One thing I would love you to show us it Pike's Peak where 'America, the Beautiful' was born, please coffee coffee
