----------------------------------------I lost about 8 hours of crunching throughout the night and early morning due to heat and fires, yet I feel very fortunate as opposed to some of our neighbors not very far from here (almost ten miles).  What a day yesterday! 100°F (38°C) (it was 90°F (32C°) at 8pm WITH a lot of *SMOKE* in the air due to yet more fires in the state of Colorado.  The aggressive Waldo Canyon fire that began raging through forested hillsides west of Colorado Springs Saturday, filled the region with dense, bitter smoke Sunday night that settled heavily on the west side. Residents who had watched the smoke plumes and torching trees throughout the day pulled to roadsides to gaze at the brilliant hues and snap pictures of the orange orb. Toll from Colorado wildfire (statewide) raised to 248 homes ... June 25, 2012 1:16 AM The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued a Wildfire Smoke Health Advisory With Colorado midway through its worst wildfire season in a decade, travelers have seen some of their favorite sites closed to the public, obscured by smoke and haze. Some travelers were awoken with evacuation orders. Plumes of gray and white smoke poured from the mountains Sunday, obscuring at times Pikes Peak, the most-summited high-elevation mountain in the nation and inspiration for the song "America The Beautiful." Weird summer in Canada as well, massive fires in Labrador and Ontario and floods in BC.

JC, hope you're okay. I know what it's like to live in fire country. There were a lot in areas around us when we lived in L.A. The smoke and soot got really bad sometimes.
