Re: Human Proteome Folding, Phase 2 Crunching Chart

it seams like in alot of the charts the task has gone up a lot. i am thinking many people have join the effort to get this research gone or we all bought faster computers? will there be an effort 2 be able to use gpu, i know probably bin asked a million times. i just like to take full advantage of my hardware. i think we could make a scholarship for programmers and developers for their efforts make it open source, Keep it being developed on. I love seeing the graph gives me an idea what has bin done and what needs to be done. thank you a lot, should be on the front page of the site under statics.

Re: Human Proteome Folding, Phase 2 Crunching Chart

I am suprised UD stopped the development of their client.. took the fall of not having more then a single core to work with. remebered for a time I used it before switching to BONIC. sad to use one core for it all.. then I got a dual core I still was stuck on a single core with UD Software.. now I am up to 20 on a quad HT and hex running HT with BONIC I am wondering how many cores can be fit on a die without it being at insane low speed like 1 GHz I read about intel having 24 Cores something like that on one package but they all ran at 1 Ghz

Re: Human Proteome Folding, Phase 2 Crunching Chart

It's called BOINC. Not BONIC, BIONIC, or some other misspelling.

Re: Human Proteome Folding, Phase 2 Crunching Chart

Is this project predicted to finish around the same time as HCC?

Re: Human Proteome Folding, Phase 2 Crunching Chart

pcwr,

Rather than answering the question, it's of much interest to learn from what information/post&date you're deriving this conclusion so we may address that. HCC1 btw is on present known work volume finishing early in Q4-11.

Re: Human Proteome Folding, Phase 2 Crunching Chart

Sorry, got my calculations / predictions wrong. shhh

Now worked it out that this project will finish nearer Q1 2013, though faster & more machines will be crunching by then, also new projects will have come on-line. So my guessimate may well work out wrong. d oh
