Hi. I'd like to know in more accurate way what this project may help to. In my opinion, website explications for this project are a bit too general and I'd like to know exactly which is the use of this project .
I have just a basic base on biology, so try not to explain it on a very difficult way. Thanks. |

Hello kalink,
HPF2 is aimed at understanding cellular biology. Figuring out what shape a protein folds into allows you to know just what the surface of the molecule looks like. This lets you figure out which other proteins it will interact with and how. In turn, this lets you figure out the network of molecular interactions that constitute a biological process. The most recent update at http://homepages.nyu.edu/~rb133/wcg/rbonneau_posts.html has a link to a recent paper ( http://www.cell.com/content/article/abstract?uid=PIIS009286740701416X ) of this sort.
