sad How do I run BOINC on a headless non-GUI system?

Some of the computers I want to run BOINC upon are headless and have only a text interface. Linux. When I boot run_manager it complains about gtk not running have I set the display properly. These systems being headless have no GUI. How to I run BOINC and gtk in such an environment?

Just run the client. run_client should do the trick. It launches the boinc executable without the boincmgr (BOINC Manager) process.
