I've been running BOINC quite happily on this Vista machine for a fortnight or so now, but as you know it is quite common for re-starts to be necessary on a new machine. It has taken some time for me to realise that every time I close down windows, all four running jobs give errors and when I reboot completely new jobs are downloaded. Does anybody have any advice on settings to make certain that jobs are suspended when the system shuts down, rather than reporting errors, please.
Thanks. Robert |

I recommend choosing the "service" option during installation.

Until you can re-install Boinc as a service or if you cannot or do not want to do it, if Windows is not dead blocked when you restart you can avoid any loss of WUs by simply stopping Boinc manually before shutting down (right click on the Boinc icon in the tray and select "Exit").
