Tonight, I downloaded the BOINC application. I chose to delete the UD agent which killed the work unit I was running.
I don't understand the BOINC agent that well. Simply: how do I get it to start working? It just sits there. I made a shortcut on my desktop, and when I click it, a window come up, but I'm not sure if anything is actually happening. My process monitor doesn't show activity. |

If your grafical interface is the pretty Simple View, just hit the blue "Add Projects" button right bottom section and choose http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org from the list and you get access to the 4 currently widely available WCG projects. In Grid View of the GUI go to the Advanced menu and choose 'attach to project' and choose same link as above.
----------------------------------------In both cases, tell it that you are already a member and enter member name and password with which you logged in here at the forum. That should start things running. ttyl (sorry for this getting answered almost 5 hours after your post. All the CA volunteers were shut-eye. added: thanks s060319, looks like more help is alive on the old continent  ).

Did you add World Community Grid as a project too Boinc?
You should click on "add project" and follow the instructions. I hope this works. |

Thank you so much. When I got to Add Projects, the "www" was highlighted in blue, but wasn't a hyperlink, so I typed in worldcommunitygrid without the .org, and it wouldnt take it. That's where I got stuck.
No problem about California help being asleep, we in Arizona sleep also. :) |

Next dumb question:
When do the WUs done under the BOINC agent start showing on My Grid stats? I'm sure I've finished at least 1 in teh past few days, but they don't show. Is there another step to update so I can see my progress? |
