during the initial installation i did not choose to have boinc launch during windows startup.
after digging into it later and changing some of the schedule settings i decided i did want it to run at start up. could not find this simple option anyway. just for laughs, can anyone point this out to me? |

You just have to place the boincmgr.exe. in the "Startup" or "Autostart" folder. My install actually have the

I am just a simple user of BOINC and WCG.
----------------------------------------But for various reasons, I have been through a bunch of installations. You know you have three choices, Single User, Multiple users, and the last one which starts on star-up of the machine with no log-in and no graphics. Why don't you just re-install with what ever suites your purposes? You don't lose anything except the five minutes. >>RSM |

For future reference, you can send any short cut to your start up directory by adding a right click short cut.
----------------------------------------1. go to Documents and setting directory and burrow down to your user id 2. open the start menu directory 3. under "start menu" will be a directory called "startup". Right click on the "startup" directory and select "send to desktop" to create a shortcut 4. go to the desktop, cut the new short cut 5. go back to windows explorer and find the "send to" directory under your userid directory 6. paste the short cut into the send to directory. Now, whenever you right click on an icon and select "send to", you will have a new option to "send to" "start up". This is much easier than trying to do it with msconfig or some other method. ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by twilyth at Jan 30, 2008 8:52:27 PM] |
