Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Kia Ora,

A lovely sunny afternoon here after the dreadful weather over the weekend. We actually had snow that closed roads. That is very rare here. Merle I hope you are on the mend :) My hubby needs both his knees replaced but they wont do it until he is an old man. Not much in the way of quality of life until then. Mind you if he was hit by a drunk driver... they wouldnt quibble about doing it then! It really makes my blood boil. Anyway do take care and do what the quacks tell you to do :)
Thanks Ted for staying in touch, I don't get much time on here these days so its nice to get an email :) Hope everyone else is doing OK? Take care and I will be back.

Regards Kate

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Good morning everyone,
Kate, I have a 58 year old brother who has been told they will not replace his knee before he is 65! So he has to limp around in pain for the next 7 years. Think what thats going to cost in pain killers! - let alone lost days at work- Yet where I live there is a lady that has had both knees and a shoulder replaced and she is in her 50s! Of course she had to pay cash up front!
Good to see you popping back! Take care.

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

Thanks for your good wishes Kate. It is 6 weeks now since my op and I still can't walk properly or any distance. The one I have to obey now is the Physio (who is young enough to be my granddaughter!). Supposed to do my exercies 4 times a day and ice my knees twice a day - when do they think I can fit it all in?? And I sit here thinking can I possibly go all through this again for the other knee? I have to keep remembering how painful it was before!! However, I must be grateful I know. Next thing on the horizon hopefully, is getting in the car to drive again - now that is very scary!! confused

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - MARCH ON

I just had the ACL replaced in January. A six month ordeal of therapy after surgery.
I can't imagine having the entire knee replaced!! . . . and the prospect of doing it all over again for the other knee!
Hope all goes as well as possible for you. Hang in there!
