Re: THE EDWARDIANS - GAME ON

smile Evening everyone;
Been a nice day so far, little overcast but warm.

Ive been researching the death of a friends brother to establish if his name could be added to the wall of the National Arboritum at Alrewas
Staffordshire; He died tragically whilst serving with the Fleet air arm, in a diving accident at HMS Fulmar Lossiemouth in 1967; I found his name on the Roll Of Honour in the Church of St Martin-in-the-Fields in London; However when I enquired as to the reason his name is not on the memorial the reply was 'Only servicemen/women who are killed in an active role, ie shot blown up etc are elegible'; I was taken aback by this answer as in my opinion all service personel are actively training for war whether they are in active service or not!, I was under the impression, rightly or wrongly, that the memorial was for all personel who died in service of their country!.
Any thoughts on this please.
Thanks

Old Sage
