Re: would be great to know in which team a member is registered

So, we have to verify, every time a new member register on our website, if he is a member of France team or an other team.

Jean-Jacques, back to your initial request and why you have this need please have a look at this item "- Added a Verification Code to the Member Profile and created a verification system for members/teams." in today's announcement of Website Updates for Jan 29, 2008

I think you might like it. smile

Cheers. Jean.

Re: would be great to know in which team a member is registered

Without the verification code provided by the member, the page generated is rather blank. The alternate offered e.g. by twilyth up above is probably the fastest, also because once you find the person, s/he's listed for all the projects s/he's participating in and the team(s) s/he's a member off.

Given it's now June 30, 2008 as target to convert all to BOINC and new members soon won't even have the option to get UD agent, BOINCstats is the 'premier' location to find out.

Maybe, it could be added to the Member Comparison Page. It's never been shared why not, but though indirectly one can find out team-memberships, one can also find out if one is team-less. At some projects these 'team-less' members fell victim to recruiting spam. Not going to debate this, but WCG tends towards the 'members can spill their own beans if they want'.

Re: would be great to know in which team a member is registered

Thanks Jean,

I'm sure this will help Sylvain to modify France web site.
He will be abble to verify automatically if the member is validated as a France team member or an "invité" member.
And we will win a lot of time verifying this manually.
This is important acually because the forum as a part reserved to members.
It will become more importante in the futur if our goal to create an official association to promote WCG become a reality.

The Verification Code btw is found on the My Grid > My Profile page.

Re: would be great to know in which team a member is registered

Hello everybody !

Thanks a lot for your help.

But I have one question, why do you need a verification code ?

We can find, without code, in which team the member is registered. So, I think, that it's not a confidential data.

How do the others statistics websites to have the list of team members ?

Is it possible to have the team name writing in XML sheet data per member ? (Just the activ team, not the historic, I don't care).

Thanks a lot !

Re: would be great to know in which team a member is registered

A group of members make use of a benefit system e.g. extra bandwidth from an ISP based on CPU hours. The benefits only get credited if the ISP can verify if the contribution is made. The VC facilitates this.

Do the present and recently expanded set of XMLs not completely allow to put that information together? Think you can now request like 8 member's details in one request, rather than one by one. Will have a little dig into this as my own teams stats frequently suffer from time-outs in the current (speak old) setup.
