This NY Times article is not uplifting article, but important since some of the problems, like osteoporosis in middle-aged men, would not be expected.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/06/health/06HI...anted=2&th&emc=th Really made me think of how much needs to be done in getting rid of AIDS. As someone who had a lot of cancer treatments a few years back I can totally emphasise with the long-run price people pay to survive. |

For the "non-native English" readers on this World Community collaborative, you will have intended you write "empathize"?

Christine MH--I am curious: Did you have traditional treatment *aka*chemo or mixed with Homeopathic treatments? I am concerned that Doctors will pooh pooh different treatments--some that wouldnt hurt if the patient is termed terminal-which in most cases they will not say--i believe in part due to the VAST amount MONEY involved--i have personal experiance--Thanks if you want to respond-if not i understand--Gerald---edit--You can use my e-mail if you prefer [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jan 20, 2008 4:01:28 PM] |

Interpreting the posters 'handle' and reference his late wife Mary, rest her soul in peace, was she in fact asking for a 'doobie'? Great alternate and well recognised on the old continent e.g. in non-addictive pain treatment and other benefits. Regrettably 'prejudices' have stopped advanced and wider study and application http://www.marijuana-as-medicine.org/Alliance/facts.html.

Sek. i dont know why she called me Duby--it could have something to do with that--she never said--and when she was sick i did get her some<doobies>-- and it helped with vomiting--i found out to late about some other remedies that might have helped and its a problem with people thinking about these as being <quackery>-- some are and some not |

Hi Sekerob,
The THC derivatives tend to be oversold in popular mythology. Good for a few people, but for most people they tend to fuzz up the thinking more than other drugs for a given level of benefit. Yeah, I'm a bit sour on the subject. My cousin's children, believing the hype, talked the family into trying them when my aunt went into terminal decline. The results were two weeks of non-communication before we stopped the experiment in her last 2 months. Lawrence |

Lawrence When i posted here it wasnt THC that i had in mind--in fact i had forgotten about it--when your loved ones are in misery you will try most anything--My wife tried it twice and it did help but would not take any more because she didnt want our children to know. There are other options that do not do that |
