Morning all, I was just wondering if anyone has any idea how long it may be before the update for BOINC to run properly on Vista is out?
I have read through all the posts and tried the various fixes but i still have issues to the point where i have discontinued the BOINC client untill the issues are resolved properly with a major update. |

The current version works with Vista.
As far as I know, the only problem you may have is with Windows Defender. |

The current version DOES work on Vista.
I found that you have to install it in a different folder, such as c:\BOINC in order to get the permissions working without having to manually modify permissions on the folder when it is created under c:\Program Files (or c:\Program Files(x86). I am still waiting for a properly functioning BOINC for Vista 64. |

No, BOINC 5.10.30 should have resolved those permissions problems. If not, please let us know.

Been running under Vista without issues since .16.

No, didn't work for me. Even installed in D:\ and C:\ ...
Seems to be a UAC issue on startup. Covered under my other thread. BOINC froze up and me earlier in addition. error: deferred communication. |

No, BOINC 5.10.30 should have resolved those permissions problems. If not, please let us know.  Hi, the user account issue is still not resolved- at least not on my system (Vista 32 bit+McAfee security suite)- which is a shame as often I start the computer and then leave it for a whole. it would be good if BOINC could run at startup and use spare computer time... |
