Baron, yes, it would take 3 hrs to do a deep scan of almost 1.5 million files. I have a millon less and it takes 58 min. That's why I auto run it everyday at 5 am.

Diana, you have both way too many files, amazing numbers.
I checked and found out I have around 200.000 which takes around 20 minutes, same time-consuming. Regards, René |

Yes, and AVG degrades system performance while it runs. This is the primary reason why I don't use it.
A lower priority scan takes longer, but doesn't make your computer unusable. |

Run a scan when you don't use your computer.

AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic
Files scanned: 447,041 Scanned Directories: 22,648 Scanned Achieves: 7,949 Warnings: 3 Detections: 0 Scan Time: 95:16min Watch out for them sneaky, kernel level/hybrid root kits. Gf had one on her computer at the local University, which caused her entire account permissions/drives to be locked down. The name was Danooka or something. It resided on her computer for months degrading performance and freezing MS Word before the central system was able to find it. It was listed on the following site: www.megasecurity.org |
