Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

The first day after I arrived in Paris, after 2 weeks in Italy, I took the TGV to Luxembourg and visited the site of the first aerodrome in Luxembourg located in the city of Esch-sur-Alzette where Escher-1 was built and based.

I checked in here and saw that the newest trek had started. I appreciate the willingness to bend the rules and award Puppy and I a Global Protection Team badge, but I have installed BOINC on my phone and will manage to process a few qualifying WUs before the end of the trek.

Cheers coffee

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

stefada, that beautiful new bridge in on my bucket list
- along with the old, romantic bridge in St Affrique.
Just leafed through a Google page of pictures from St Affrique.
The spire of your church looks like the one on Notre Dame that vanished
ChrisRasmussen, the restaurant you mention certainly has an interesting selection of food.
The restaurant I went to has been restored by a shipping man who has restoring certain houses as his hobby.
Among other things, he has given the old highway inn Rønnede Kro not far from me an overhaul as well.
So it was frikadelle, I ate. Very good!
– for our English speaking visitors:
Frikadelle (singularum)/frikadeller (plural)
are Danish meatball(s) to be enjoyed hot with potatoes etc. or cold in open sandwiches (smørrebrød)
nerd

Good Morning once more Base Campers!
Business
It’s a pleasure to welcome
NixChix rose to our trek to Denmark.
As it happens, you’re pretty close to Scandinavia these days.
Did you take any pictures of the Esch-sur-Alzette airfield?
If so you may want to show them to us upon your return to California
- imgur.com seems to be good for hosting
Is your son well enough to accompany you on the trip?
As you can see from the list of the crew, you’re in good company.
You never met cswchan before
– he’s a very senior Base Camper from Mississauga, Canada, who has returned to his roots.
None of us ever met [CSF] Christian Carquilla in our crew before.
He was our temporary team mate during our Crunchers Sans Frontiers trek.
It’s so refreshing with new people.
acpartsman turned into [CSF] Damon Hill – besides, it’s his birthday tomorrow.
The rumour mill is grinding really well today biggrin
It’s a nice thing you put BOINC on your phone, NixChix peace
In case you want to use it for e.g. navigating during your trip,
you may want to suspend it periodically in the daytime for battery reasons.
NixChix your Base Camp crew partners at the moment are:

little mermaid
Doneske
Stefada
[CSF] Christian Carquilla
[CSF] Damon Hill

and
OldChap who tells me that
- the old cartetaker at Notre Dame is not absolutely sure who set the fire...... but he has a hunch wink

Chit-chat
My Easter lunch was great.
Good food and good company, impeccable blue sky, trees budding, not enough wind for the wind turbines to rotate .....
Perfect!

EDIT: I forgot a 't' in OldChap's Notre Dame item blushing
and I expanded the explanation of 'frikadelle(r)' tongue

Yes! I read that, too biggrin
180.000 bees survived in time to pollinate the numerous chestnut tree flowers and what have you smile

Dogwoods here.
Do you call chestnuts dogwoods?
Or do you mean to say the dogwoods
are flowering just now at your place?

My dear Little Mermaid, just checking in to talk with all my hard working friends. Hoping that you are all well in the camp. Tell me if there are any music wishes at camp 🔥 I know you have been working hard, 35000 hours until now. It will be fun also to see how we do in the challenges with other teams.
I will check with you a little later again

Stefada. You can have you dinner pictures on our website if you want.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

- salade
- fromage
- un Saint Honoré en dessert

----------

Often you give me compliments for cooking. Today, I would like to pay tribute to my mother, telling you what she has prepared for the family meal this afternoon. I think you will understand better why I like good recipes.

- Shrimp empanadas
- Pan-fried foie gras
- Skewers of fresh scallops
- Boar stew, accompanied by porcini mushrooms
- salad
- cheese
- a Saint Honoré for dessert

Never have enough time since I retired 5 years ago... Went on a trek in 2014 to iHelpforum and just parked there for about 5 years... Oh well.
