Thank you! good luck coffee
You're welcome, BladeD

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
Well, BladeD is so fast that .... he did stay long enough to earn himself
the widest badge in Base Camp history biggrin Thank you for visiting.

The honor roll ready for the Base Camp Hall of Fame now looks like this:
little mermaid
TLD
NixChix
davwhite5xq7
acpartsman
stefada
Trotador
OldChap
VietOZ
NAP2614
616westwarmoth
Urden
BladeD

and sujo1 gets his honorary badge, of course, supplying all these faithful Base Campers hugs
The XtremeSystems trek will end by tomorrow, when the 14th Birthday Challenge is over,
so you better hurry if you want to secure yourself that wide badge.
XtremeSystems lost a bit to #3 Team Gridcoin, but to an untrained eye a
57,000,000 lead looks comfortable.
OldChap, however, may whip up something else thinking

I know you may be tired, but we have work to do.
We promised Captain flodisar a The International Team 3.0 in November, so after a bit of R&R
you will all be invited to Sweden some time next week.
After that, we'll pay a visit to L'Alliance Francophone some time in December
as I promised stefada on behalf of everybody blushing

Chit-chat
Winter could arrive anytime now. For some days we have had easterly winds, which are cold this time of year.
I had my wheels with winter tires put on 'Rosie' today, and later made a walk in that sunny, clear weather
which is often the companion for winds from Siberia.
The picture shows fishermen's utensils and at the water's edge the float that brings cattle
from the mainland across a narrow strait with fierce current to grass at the island Dybsø
for the summer and bring it back again in the autumn.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
To the US faction of Base Camp:

Business
Our XtremeSystems trek will end by midnight UTC.
This team is, well, xtreme. Still, I like to believe that we made a small difference smile
The end result of the 14th Birthday Challenge will - barred any miracles - be that
team Byteball.org wins.
Right now that team has ~700,000,000 points whereas
XtremeSystems at ~300,000,000 is #2
ahead 'just' ~50,000,000 point of #3 Gridcoin.
I think XtremeSystems could be very proud of this achievement,
and so can you, Base Campers

Chit-chat
Tomorrow not only the American faction will go bargain hunting on Black Friday.
I don't know if it has been introduced in France, but as Halloween has become a Danish 'tradition'
so has Black Friday rolling eyes
Upstairs Yvonne is an avid shopper and loves it.
I'm sure she has a list of what will pay to buy tomorrow.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Going on the forum XtremeSystems, I read here that the team is almost three times more points than last year, it is celebrated! And anyway, to motivate us for the final sprint, I planned to propose a new culinary specialty. We can not do a trek without speaking gluttony. (French tuch)

L’oreillette is a Languedoc specialty. It's a thin, crispy donut, usually sprinkled with sugar. Almost all the time, there is a little orange blossom in it.

It is also called the 'rich bread', because originally this dessert was used to mark the end of Lent, and more generally religious holidays (celebration ?). It was also a treat for the carnival.

Nowadays, it is found in all village festivals and cultural events, and even sometimes in concerts. It's really something traditional in this region.

Enjoy, and thoroughly for the finish!

good luck

Edit :

----------
Chance does a good job, happy Tanksgiving, I think the oreillettes are going very well for the occasion.

Little Mermaid,

(The GreenFriday map planned. The details, in French, for the curious.)

As for Halloween, according to my friends who have children, most people have nothing to give or anything prepared. And I confess, that I who almost never eat candy, the few times that children came to my home, I was very annoyed.

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

The upgrade in participants or in hardware is BIG this year as can be seen when looking at total team results last year:

https://www.seti-germany.de/wcg/stats_team_al...amp;lang=en&year=2017

It looks like the third place score from last year could be attained by 8th place this year..... and yes we are most pleased to have taken last year's total up to 2.6 times approximately

Participation by the Base Campers and a few others is most appreciated both in the points and the ability to maintain the early lead.

So, from a bunch of Xtreme crunchers and computing maniacs and fools to all of you that joined us for this, I hope you enjoyed the ride and....

Many Many THANKS

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

blushing How could I forget food, stefada?
Thank you for your delicious serving of oreillettes. Do you have it with coffee or as a dessert?
I like the idea of a Green Friday biggrin
You’re welcome OldChap. I hope Trotador and 616westwarmoth
will become permanent members of XtremeSystems after this challenge

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
Well, you’re off, Base Campers.
No more duties.
You may go out and play in the sun at your home teams
as Gmail tells me when I have cleared my in tray.

Your badges will be posted in the Base Camp Hall of Fame 'shortly'.
I’ll do my best to have the The International Team 3.0 launched by Tuesday.
It will not be a long one.
Just a five day one as preferred by TLD – who did stick with the Xtremes for the duration.
In December we’ll have the L’alliance Francophone trek.
I wonder, NAP2614, would you be interested in looking into the design of a francophone badge
… France, Belgium, Switzerland … whatever pops up in your mind?
Chit-chat
The days are rapidly growing shorter here in Denmark.
The sun set at 15:55 (3:45 pm) which means we have lost 9 hours and 32 minutes of daylight by now.
Today it felt as if there has been none whatsoever.
Too dark to clean sad
Not that this was any large sacrifice … smile

EDIT: Put the 's' in the end of Systems blushing

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Little Mermald,

---------
Traditionally, l'oreillette is a dessert. And to keep the taste of orange blossom, I would say that the coffee is drunk after.

Knowing that nowadays, it is best eaten at parties. A bit like the churros, in the way, not at all in the taste.

-------
Green Friday has mobilized a lot, while it is only the second year. The movement "yellow vest" surely influenced. But we are not here to do politics, it was just to say. That the French are so 'grumpy', that it is already starting to be criticized, as it is good the GreenFriday, but it should be done every day (which is not necessary, in itself)

OldChap,

You're welcome.

---------
It was very pleasant, to see that 'little' like me, we can help 'giants' like you. And the final gap shows, from my point of view, that Base Camp support has helped. I only gave you 288'617 points, but that was it. And as the captain of the Kraland team said:
Small streams make big rivers, small computers make mega calculators for research.

good luck

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I would love to taste that crispy dessert, stefada, and yes, as you say
coffee should be afterwards, my imaginations tells me as not to wipe out the orange blossom taste

Good Morning Base Campers!
Business
Thank you very much all rose of rose you rose for taking part in the XtremeSystems trek.
It's so funny how every trek we make is so different from all the earlier ones.
I never imagined we would do an overdog one
- always thought of us as supporting newcomers and underdogs.
The upcoming one The International Team 3.0 should be a run-of-the-mill one, though.
NAP2614 has agreed to work on a badge for the next in line, l'Alliance Francophone.

Chit-chat
Out of town for most of the weekend.
Taking my first trip by Metro/Subway/Underground/U-Bahn in Denmark ever ... blushing

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Little Mermaid,

----------
Yes, the oreillettes, it's really delicious. And it's still a 'poor man's dish', except for the orange blossom, the ingredients are easy to find. I found a recipe that seems very good, in French, but it is very short, because rather easy to do. If you want to try to cook.

Otherwise, perhaps by forcing you to discover landscapes and culinary specialties, you will ask Rosie to take you to Aveyron ...

Treks

It's funny that you remember that Base Camp usually helps challengers, LM. That my experience is the opposite, each time I was an 'overdog' (if I understand correctly, I'm not sure I understood the word). It makes sense at the same time, each of my participations, was to thank teams that had helped before.

If you look at the capture, Kraland is a tiny team next to the other three. But I find it very pretty, to see these 4 names side by side.

Finally, very happy that the trek with the Alliance Francophone is retained! The few exchanges I had were very nice. Just register on 'our' forum (French) to discuss a little, I found it very cool. I think I'll do some WUs with them, even if I spend a little too much time outside Team Kraland lately.

peace

--------
I continue to work on the script, but as announced, it will take time, and I promise nothing. In addition to not having practiced for a long time, and therefore having to do research on the Internet, to remind me how we do. In php, when there is a bug, it is never indicated in the right place, which is wasting a lot of time. (the disadvantage of languages very little strongly typed, for those who know the programming)
