Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Thank you, Elaine ---> I'm really slow, sorry blushing
And, yes it's very good news for her.
I think her diet will take a turn for the worse, tho,
and she will hardly be able to finish what's on her plate
- but then again, it will leave a litte more meat and sinews on the bones for our visiting vultures biggrin

So, now: Can you solve the time of day riddle for me as well, please?

- Yes, I'll stop it
yes, I will
- intermittently smile

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Oh!
That's because I'm the only European in Base Camp, USAFA 82!
I always look at my watch when posting and go diagonal - backwards!
It will look foolish to the majority of Base Campers
who are Americans and Canadians otherwise
- but we do have Australians as well
- and now we have a New Zealander, too
Well, I'll stick to pretending I'm EST (or EDST)

- and the stars are out at your place now
- and were it not overcast, the sun would be up here

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

I think a new camp rule should be it can be whatever time it wants to be anywhere.
After all it might be autumn where you are but I`m quite looking forward to spring at the moment.

Also, and this is weird.Do you realise the sun moves across the sky in the wrong direction down here? Its true.

Rises in the East, reaches its highest point in the North at midday, and sets in the West.

Dont even start on the direction the water goes down the plug hole.... talk to the hand

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Yep, sunfolk, anything goes!
I'll stick to EST (EDST) tho, until either
the Australians, the New Zealanders or the Europeans
(inclusive of the Brits)
form the majority in Base Camp.
I didn't even think about your seasons being opposite of the Northern hemisphere ...
But I have seen the moon lying on its back in Argentina, and of all places
Chile and Easter Island - Chile as well, far, far away Chile
and the sun behaving opposite of how it does in my country
- weird, but you have tried both yourself.
In Kenya they showed the water's movement at the Equator
- swirling clockwise south of it
- and counterclockwise north of it
much as the roundabouts in England versus those in Europe as the Brits favour saying
So I think I know, sunfolk, but I could very well be wrong ...
Which time would be the best visiting for New Zealand (excluding scuba diving)
- your spring, summer or fall
- maybe even winter in your opinion?
(mainly for enjoying the scenery which I'm told is magnificent)
BTW: Do you also drive in the left side of the road in New Zealand?

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good Afternoon Base Campers!
We still have not produced the permanent member, I think *The Survivors* and the Captain deserves.
On the other hand, we are still hanging in with the same crew as yesterday.
No finish date has been set, and you seem not to be in a hurry, so that's very nice of you.
I started my German class today. That was nice. We stuck to speaking German by and large
discussing "The Road Back" by Erich Maria Remarque.
Tomorrow will be English. I did my homework - an essay about Rosie: Rosie the Riveter, the Rosie, my Rosie
and, will you believe it:
Rosie has her own National Park in Richmond, California (I knew that), but she also has a song, which I proudly present now:
rose Rosie the Riveter rose
We have opened a thread for suggestions for a badge for Trek #29 and one for chatty posts also.
Please present your suggestions smile

Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't

Good day campers,

Dec,Jan,Feb is our summer time and the best for visiting, we do drive on the left.

There are a couple of roundabouts in the UK (Hemel hempstead & Swindon) called the "Magic roundabout" the traffic goes around it anti-clockwise...Magic roundabout

My favourite roundabout is the one at the Arc de Triomphe in paris, have you ever seen it? Very very scary!

Can we add "unchained melody" to the camp playlist?
