I have a dual core AMD 4400+ machine that is configured to run all the time and use 100% CPU power.
----------------------------------------Problem is that every time I check said machine it is running only one of the two work units with one of them frozen and it won't restart unless I restart the BOINC service. I even reformatted and did a clean install of XP Pro and it's still doing the same thing. Any ideas how to get this machine to perform? I'm running the latest version of BOINC 5.10.28 and I even tried to use the WCG version to no avail. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Lone-Wolf at Nov 10, 2007 4:17:42 PM] |

Please check the BOINC messages. The reason for the task stopping should be recorded there.
If you don't know what it all means, post the messages here. |

Since the PC just rebooted the messages don't indicate anything as I'm assuming they clear themselves out at reboot. I have looked in there previously and noticed nothing untoward but I will copy and paste whatever it says next freeze up. ![]() |

According to that, you have no problem - both cores are fully utilised.
Except somehow you seem to be trying to run two instances of BOINC. What's that about? |

When you say "frozen" - what evidence are you basing that on?

When you say "frozen" - what evidence are you basing that on? Unit stops counting and task manager shows my CPU usage at 50% which is not normal if both cores are processing. ![]() |
