Re: Frozen work units?

Once in a while I have frozen dddt-WUs too on my Linux workstation(AMD X2 5000+ 65nm Brisbane @3,3GHz, 43° C core temp, 4GB RAM).

Harware issues for sure are not the reason therefor. ;-)
So far it happened three times and afair always in the first minute of a WU.

When it happened yesterday evening, I was too tiered to investigate closer with top, ps, etc. :(
This is specially upsetting me, 'cause I'm just coding a little tool, that is supposed to watch these kind of events, as team mates and other projects like Rosetta@home have problems with the same issue. It's seems common, this happens pretty seldom, so it's hard to debug.

It might take some days until this happens again and I will then take the chance to figure out about the problem as much as I can.

cu,
Michael

Re: Frozen work units?

It's still happening here occasionally. Oddly enough I only seem to see the problem on my AMD machines. The intels don't SEEM to show the same issue. If I reboot the machine with a stuch work unit they USUALLY start from scratch and complete but I had one last week that got stuck again at about 43 seconds. I'm just aborting them now.

BTW, there's never been anything in the logs. Nothing. The units just stop.

Print us your startup message log until point where a job starts and the content of the global_prefs.xml's section of the venue you use, for an impression on the system setup. Memory/Disk limits (in the settings) comes to mind.
