Re: Crashes

I've been running with my config disallowing HCC. However, I always allow beta tests and there's no way to limit which betas they are, of course.

So, I recently received another beta for this project (BETA_ X0000045461079200502081412_ 0--). It completed and then SEGV'd on exit just like the others.

Oddly, the other WU for this group (_1) exited with error status in just over a minute and no replacement has yet been sent.

Anyhow, expecting this result, I backed up the data at the previous checkpoint and prevented blocked the program from reporting to your servers. So, if you want the last checkpoint data, I have it. If you can provide me a working program, I can run the job to completion any time.

Re: Crashes

Yay! The new beta appears to work! (Okay, only from a sample size of one from my perspective, but it's the first HCC unit that's ever worked for me.)

Assuming it works for other crunchers too, how long is it likely to be before this version becomes the HCC production version?

I have crunched 4 of the new BETA linux HCC tasks and all have completed successfully.

Announcement has already been posted:

I've had a second one complete successfully too.
Great! Now I can finally contribute to HCC.

Re: Crashes

FYI: If you see versions of science application starting with 6, it means they are also ready for the future BOINC 6.x release, and as e.g. noted in the Viktors announcements of April 10, remain compatible with version 5.x.
