Here's a good way to start the next three years! (From a Devotional..)
----------------------------------------God Bless us All! "Thus says the Lord: Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool; what is the house that you would build for Me, and what is My resting place? All these things My hand has made, and so all these things are Mine, says the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look, to the humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at My word" (Isaiah 66:1-2). "But I, through the abundance of Your steadfast love, will enter Your house, I will bow down toward Your holy temple in awe of You" (Psalm 5:7). Teach me what it means to be humble and contrite in spirit, to tremble at Your word. Forgive me for the ways I exalt myself on my own throne in my life or in the lives of others. Come and take Your place every moment of every day upon the throne of my soul. And let my words be submitted to Your words, my ways submitted to Your ways. Thank You for Your grace and patience with me that flows from the throne of Your steadfast love. For your mercy flows forever! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen. Praise God!! I just got done putting out a fire on my porch!!
----------------------------------------My neighbor from out back saw smoke and came over to investigate. What was burning was a planter filled with dirt and a dead plant. My daughter Alyson has been putting her cigarettes in this planter and, well, it finally caught on fire. I have to finish getting the rug off the porch, now that its soaking wet and has a big hole in it. Me and my neighbor Gail got the planter off the porch with a shovel and scissors 'cause it was melted right to it. Even after putting all that water on it, the dirt was still smoldering so we spread it out on the driveway. Thank God in the Highest that the underlying wood didn't catch fire too! Or the dry leaves, or the chair pad lying right next to it, or the wooden chair, or..or..or Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus ![]() ![]() |
