Sounds like some badly needed training Robby.
I suspect one of the first words of advice is to always do the activity in God's strength and not our own.
It also helps to remember that if we are doing God's will, then the people who fight against us are really fighting against God and not us (don't get personally offended).

America is losing 20,00 pastors a year!
The training showed how the Bible has the answers and examples
to deal with the problems (opportunities) that growth brings to a church.
EX:17-18 for one was our home work overnight.
How to break down the responsibilities of leadership and
organize so that you don't (as a pastor) have to do all the
work as your church grows, while keeping a finger on the pulse
of your sheep and imparting your heart and a vision to
your ministry Leaders.
And a skill set for the leaders to use to replicate others and use change at each level
of accountability so that the body can keep growing.

I could go on and on....

But you lucked out because it is time for a pre work/Church nap!

I stood there this Sunday singing this at the top of my lungs

"I'll stand with arms high and heart abandoned
In awe of the one who gave it all
I'll stand my soul Lord to you surrender
All I am is yours"

I like to be honest in my Worship and so I stand there with hands firmly in my pockets at the back while everyone around me gives it their all - my heart nevertheless abandoned. I don't like singing something that I can't be truthful about and the way I had read the last line talks of me surrendering all to Jesus. Kind of I give up everything and I now ask "what do you want me to do?"

but being honest I'm not in that place either

but then in all of this God spoke in the music

The line is musically delivered

All I am.....is yours

Now that's completely different to All I am is yours (Here's hoping you agree but you can disagree I don't have problem with that either)

This is a completely different way of looking at a Christian Life.

Like Maximus Decimus Meridius but on a much less glamorous scale

I am (among other things) Dave Autumns Husband to Deb, Father of Emily and Jess, Podcast Man, Christian Cruncher, Employee of a Telecoms company who gets up to go to work most days

Now all that I am is his. Of that there is no doubt.

In the same way that I watched Jessica playing Guitar at the weekend as I have played for a very long time. All she is is mine and as a Dad I can be proud in my offspring. Nothing brings a smile to your face more than your Kids growing in front of your very eyes
