Re: Christians are giving...come give with us!

Ever since the move this team has been on fire! cool (I gotta wear shades to protect my eyes.) Consider the following:

* From January 1 - January 11th, we had 0 days where we broke 400,000 points and only once had over 200 days of CPU time.
* For the past 7 days (January 12th - 18th), we've stayed above 400,000 points and 200 days of CPU time.
* During these past 7 days we've averaged over 425,000 points and nearly 240 CPU days
* In all of 2008, we only had 8 days above 400,000!

Also, our results returned have gone way up (nearly 50%) since the start of January, but you could partially attribute that to a lack of Clean Energy work combined with the new, shorter Fight Aids and Nutritious Rice work. Still, a little pushing could get us over 700 results in a day!

Also, now Dengue is back, my machines are tackling them quicker than the Cancer and HPF2 ones. I only managed to get 3 days of CPU time in before hurricane Ike hit, so I'm going to do my bit for the guys and gals of Galveston... I also have the additional motivation of trying for a new badge!

Re: Christians are giving...come give with us!

That's good to hear! I've only managed to pull 1 DDDT unit so far, and it's on my slowest box. I guess I won't be getting any badges in that soon. On the other hand, I've snagged a few Clean Energy units. Hopefully I can soon trade my ugly bronze for a sweet silver badge. But in the mean time I'm happy to crunch the widely available Cancer and HPF units, which are what drew me to this project in the first place.

By the way, 708 results returned yesterday! biggrin

Great stuff... we're really showing them what we can do!!

I've just added another machine to my collection and it's the fastest one yet - I'm sure it's nothing compared to some of the powerhouses that some people run, but it's a 2core2.66 (no O/C) and it's getting through 2 DDDT WUs in 4-5 hours.

As these are fresh WUs from the most recent batch, the validation period is taking longer than the ones on my other machines I downloaded a day or so ago, but once they're valid and so long as I keep getting ones from these projects, I should be good for about another 8-12 a day

Re: Christians are giving...come give with us!

Congrats on your new machine! I love adding crunching power, even if it's just cobbling together enough old parts for a single core cruncher. A dual core @ 2.66 will do a lot more damage than that! And I'm glad you're getting some DDDT work, I still have only had one; it came and went before I even got a chance to know it. sad laughing

I have more awesome crunching news! Yesterday we returned 807 results for 513,431 points! That's our second best point output in the history of the team, even surpassing roughly 30 days where people from the Base Camp joined our team. (Our best day ever was an enormous day from that time period. But who knows, we may beat that too if we keep this trend up.) Well done all!

Re: Christians are giving...come give with us!

January Wrapup

We really ended 2008 on a high note. Could we continue that trend into 2009? It looked doubtful at first, but once the datacenter move was complete, everybody responded well! Starting on January 12th, we did not have a day where our production dipped below 400,000 points. That's 20 days in a row in January alone. Considering that we only had 8 days above 400,000 for the entire year of 2008, that's an impressive feat! That added up to over 12.5 Million points for Jan '09 - over 1 Million more than our best for 2008 and 5 Million more than Jan '08. We also amassed over 19 years of CPU time in January, which is higher than any month of 2008.

According to the stats provided by the good people of Team Starfire, we also lit up the Milestone scoreboard. The three richest sections were 50,000 which had 10 people cross that barrier; 20,000 which had 8 people; and 90,000 which had 6 people. The range of milestones started with femi who quickly picked up a 250 and didn't stop until they passed the 2500 milestone, and ranged all the way up to the team's top dog drick78 who passed a jaw-dropping 1,750,000 points and is now well past 1,800,000! cool There were plenty more milestones - big and small. 77, as a matter of fact! People like jal2, David Autumns, gbritton, jhaugan, edmund.reinhardt, Lighthouse, and smmorgan all had huge milestones the rest of us hope to hit someday. But all the activity in the 4 and 5 digit milestones is what really excites me. It's good to see so much activity and movement. Together we will have a significant impact.
