WCG Paused when running on batteries - can I make it run?

When running WCG on a laptop, it pauses when the AC power is unplugged and only running on batteries and states something like "Paused to Conserv Battery Power". Is there a setting where I can make it run when on battery power.

I've found that grid computing applications are excellent if you want to cycle (drain) your battery.

Re: WCG Paused when running on batteries - can I make it run?

Deandari,

I'm sorry there is currently not a way to make WCG run using only a laptop battery for power. This was a feature implemented to keep less experienced computer users from doing what you actually want to do (running down the battery).

If you've got a wireless card and network to connect to, I've found that will drain a laptop battery pretty quickly. smile

thanks for that - it's good to know it's not supported. Maybe in a later release.

In the meantime, there's always SETI tongue
