Coming back and ready to help ...

Hello all,

Thanks to one e-mail today which have recalled to me this community ...

on the beginning of 2007 year, I have "worked" (one of my computers) on
dystrophy ...

I still see here my (poor) statistics ... but for multiple reasons I stopped in february 2007.

Now everything is again O.K. after changes of home, etc...

I work under Win XP Pro and have a broadband (DSL 1024) connexion at home/office in my dear deep natural and quiet country (SW France).

I should like to change of research object/team and participate into your "climatic changes ...".

I know a bit the sahelian region in Africa (south Sahara desert) as a UNESCO expert (ecology, hydrology, nature conservation) and I have lived and worked there several years on the seventies-eighties (last century !).

Thanks to say here to me how can I do ?

Best regards

O.F.

Re: Coming back and ready to help ...

Hello, glad to see you back!
You don't need to change team for participating to other projects! smile
You only need to go to your personal stats page (Mes calculs/My grid), click on "Mes projets/My projects" in the left column, and then select the projects you want to give your computer time, without forgetting to check the box allowing to receive other projects in case of shortage of your preferred project(s).

For crunching on the new projects you will also need to install the Boinc agent as said in the Newsletter that you received.
Go to this page WCG - Download and download the 5.10.22 version of Boinc.
Then execute the module that you have received, follow instructions, and come back here for help if anything is not going as smoothly as expected.

Regarding the "African Climate" project be aware that very few WUs are distributed at each cycle of the project. There can be only 820 of them at a given time and there is a pause between cycles since input of one cycle is prepared from the results of the previous one. Therefore don't be surprised if you don't receive one as soon as you select it.

Cheers. Jean.

Re: Coming back and ready to help ...

Salut / Hello !

Merci JM (Frenchy) / Thanks esoteric17 (American) !

Excellent raccourci / shortcut d'une "World Community" !

Bonne continuation. Jean.
