Four workunits have now been marked "too late" for ALL copies returned by mine and OTHER computers. Which is interesting, because all four of MY copies have been returned since September 21st or 22nd. They had been marked "pending validation". (One workunit had 32 copies sent out, one had 34, and two had 42 copies.) These are the four:

Hello sedgecom,
There has been a lot of debug work on ACAH. Some work is being rerun on updated code. I don't know just what category your work units fall into, but I expect that the staff are on top of it all. This is just the expected start-up difficulty that made us suspiciously limit the number of work units for the start of this project. Lawrence |

Results remain listed until about 4 calendar days after validation. If wishing to track, take a periodic dump to e.g. a spreadsheet. With 250,000 results daily, the on-line database would just grow too ginormous

I realize that new projects have their problems, but I still want to know why multiple workunits (from multiple people/computers) turned in days before they were due are now marked too late.

Hello sedgecom,
One way this could happen is for knreed to hop onto the server and change the due date for a batch of work units that need to be rerun. This would allow him to reissue the work units while ignoring the old results. Another way is for a serious mistake to have been made in the work unit headers. Either way, it will be flagged for the staff to attend to, so the points will be correctly awarded. Lawrence |

Hello sedgecom,
I believe I responded to your support email about the work units being labeled to late. The reason these results were not allowed to finish were because they were holding back the project. When we restarted the project a week or so ago, there was a fix to the validation technique that caused the results not finished to be re-issued. Since there are not as many Mac-Intel devices compared with Windows, this caused those work units to be delayed. These few work units were holding back the project as we couldn't start the second column until they were complete. Now that those work units have been canceled, the project is running at full speed. (Remember, a max of 820 work units at a time). -U |

Hi
----------------------------------------what does canceled mean - approx 29 CPU hours used. 4 more Pending Validation from my Mac Pro - another 28hours - whats happening to them? any points? update: I've been sent a new 12 hour new WU to my Mac - perhaps I should uncheck this project until its clear whats happening - I donr want to waste the science and CPU time ... CANCELED - seems ominous ... there seem to be plenty other willing crunchers for this project ... I'll await your expert voice .. As uplinger explained, there are not enough Macs participating to get a work-unit complete in a quorum within reasonable time, thus the servers were instructed to cancel any further distribution for this batch (to Macs). At that time also a message is set ready for any clients. If they contact the server, they'd be told to abort if they still had one of these cancelled jobs in queue. That you got so many AC@H, is an indication of the Mac participation shortage.
----------------------------------------As for credits, that would require manual intervention, which is likely done when the queue is being cleaned up. There was the weekend in between, so hopefully techs come around to handling coming days. If there are still 3 of your 3jobs in 'inconclusive', then the detail (click WU name in Result Status page to see that) should show that more copies are 'in progress'. The same goes for Pending.
