I'm getting a repeated error message:
An error message pops up from the World Community Grid window to say "World Community Grid - BOINC Client - Connection Failed: World Community Grid - BOINC Client is not able to connect to a World Community Grid client. Would you like to try to connect again?" Also, a general Windows error report message appears, which begins "BOINC client has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The specific contents of the error report: Exception Information Code: 0xc0000005 Flags: 0x00000000 Record: 0x000000000000 Address: 0x000000007c911430 When I send the error report and click "Yes" in response to "Would you like to try to connect again?", the same problems occur again a few minutes later. I just finished uinstalling and reinstalling the agent, and nothing has changed. Advice? Help? |

Normally it is security that blocks communications. So what antivirus and firewall programs do you use? What OS and what version of BOINC? How is DEP set for your cpu? Lawrence |

BOINC is in two parts: the core client that does the work, and the Manager that lets you control it. What you are seeing here is the core client crashing. The Manager then can't connect to the core client, and will pop up errors.
The question, then, is why is the core client crashing? To help us answer this, please will you tell us your OS version and BOINC version, and provide the contents of the file stderrdae.txt in your BOINC folder? Thank you. |

I use Norton AntiVirus. I haven't changed antivirus programs since I originally installed the client, and it used to work.
The OS is Windows XP Professional. The BOINC version is the most recent, unless there was a new one uploaded within the past day. How is DEP set for your cpu? I don't know. How would I find this out?
