How long does it take you to upload an ACH workunit, then?
For me, it took 40 minutes. I have a 20 Mbit connection. Uploading the complete result would therefore take about 7 hours. It is easy to see why WCG have arranged the work in the way they have. |

Grrahnbahr, what you say has been considered, but whilst this project is short, really an advancing trial and only has 82 blocks of 14 day period simulations to do in 27 sequences, the 'redundancy' is contained and allows for gaining experience and knowledge with these large work units going to different platforms (MAC, Windows, Linux). Instead of at best case 820 copies in a batch, considering these platform variations, would still probably require quorum circulation 3/4/5. okay... 50% maybe yet loosing that opportunity to see if it works on a vastly diverse set of CPU's.
----------------------------------------I fear I've repeated what others have said before me in different ways. Don't think WCG is ready to make the project further 'exclusive' to those with really big bandwidths.
