I'm forwarding this for my mate Vaio......
From post over to The DC Zone Forum. Can someone post a query for me at WCG forum quoting: Greetings. I have been having connection issues for the last 24 hours on all my machines. Can't even access the forum........ I have rebooted main rig/rebooted router/shut down other internet intensive stuff and still can't upload work. During the night one machine randomly uploaded some work but still unable to manually upload anything thus not able to download new work either. 02/09/2007 14:26:58|World Community Grid|[file_xfer] Temporarily failed upload of dddt0101a0028_ZINC00086388-0001_02_0_1: system connect 02/09/2007 14:26:58|World Community Grid|Backing off 2 hr 3 min 58 sec on upload of file dddt0101a0028_ZINC00086388-0001_02_0_1 02/09/2007 14:27:00||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. Just tried on another rig repeatedly and got "4 consecutive failed access attempts" error.......with a 24 delay til next attempt blah. Have my rigs been blackballed or something??? Can't find anyone else with same issue. Off to predict the climate whilst awaiting solution ideas. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks. ![]() |

Well - everything's working here, as you can see. WCG don't have a policy of blocking anyone, although it is possible that the datacenter have blocked a whole range and Vaio was caught in it. I don't think that's it, though.
I think it's just a normal routing problem. Hopefully it will resolve soon. Tell him to hang in there.... |

Let me explain. Some software for Peer to Peer (P2P) downloads IP blocking tables. There are tables floating around that block many companies to include wide ranges of IPs belonging to IBM. the Likes of Bittorrents, eMule, eDonkey, PeerGuardian share these lists. One member a week or so ago reported on having to set exemptions in this software's table. 129.33.89.133 + 129.89.33.134 must be accessible to get to WCG+It's servers.

Well, it's not a local problem, obviously - but there are some global routing issues at the moment, according to the Internet traffic report.

Yea, Pinky just had him run tracert. and it timed out on the last few hops... So it does look like a routing issue.
Thanks for looking in to this y'all. ![]() |

Greetings
Thanks for forwarding and appreciate the replies.Problem obviously at my end as physically unplugging the router and plugging in again appears to have fixed it. Managed to upload some work and 1 rig has received new work ![]() |

This problem has been going on for the last 11 or 12 hours now.
----------------------------------------I chose not to list the large log. Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down. World Community Grid|Scheduler request failed: problem with the SSL CA cert (path? access rights?) Strange that were no reports from WCG. There is a problem with a server (or servers) at WCG. Well, I think so. Who knows really? Whatever, I get to go to a Pool Party tomorrow. 'rita time. ![]() |
