A followup on the research re infecting dengue mosquitoes with bacteria, described in the post above by SouthernCrossBlue, was shown on ABCTV* on 3 Sept 09. The video, transcript and contacts list are at Dengue Mozzie.
BTW, you can post comments there, and/or suggest crunching for WCG to the researchers, via their email addresses.

Climate and Viral Illness: El Nino Event Linked to Dengue Epidemics

The National Institute of Health (NIH) says that Wilbert Van Panhuis, University of Pittsburgh, reports that El Nino event is linked to Dengue epidemics.
