No Graphic for the human proteome project....why???

When the project is running ,I'm not abble to see the graphics of the project ....

I only see a black screen with on the side the statistics...

Is it normal??? And how could i change this and have a normal view???

p.-s.: I had a similar problem with the aids project, with that difference that i could see a gene with little colour balls inside at some times ...

But it was really slow and nearly never changed ....

Thanks ....

David

Can you show us a screenshot? A picture paints a thousand words and all that....

Re: No Graphic for the human proteome project....why???

I just checked. My Windows HPF2 program (version 5.18) does not show a graphics model either when I select graphics. I have been running this version since January, but I cannot remember if I ever displayed graphics on it.

Maybe time to bring the display drivers up to snuff.... I'm on lf873xxxx and after a few seconds have hi-res graphics all right. Always has on windows, but read of a few reporting this quite some time ago.

Yep, found the thread in which i posted this picture on feb.21'2007, and indeed someone not seeing the main proteome.

Re: No Graphic for the human proteome project....why???

Last time I wanted to see it I believed it was broken, but after (too) many seconds it has finally come. Considering the time it took I decided it needed too much processing and I closed it immediately. smile

I get about a 15 second delay before the graphics show up. And this is on a very fast machine so I would imagine an older computer might take longer.

Re: No Graphic for the human proteome project....why???

Thanks, olympic!

That was it. I brought up the graphics on HPF2 on my machine. Blank. I started browsing. After 3 minutes, I brought up the graphics over my browser. Still blank. I read a few more articles for 5 minutes, then brought the graphics window to the top. And it had a graphics model on it!

It just takes time for those of us who don't bother with a graphics card, etc.
