Cholesterol levels is debatable, the more as there are so-called good and bad... HDL/LDL. The test often just is reported as one number. Got your values... go here: http://www.hughchou.org/calc/chol.php

My BMI is 22... Do that too: http://www.hughchou.org/calc/bmi-bmr.php

This is a piece of good news... Vitamin B3 enhancing the function of antibiotics: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19367277
snip:
Prof Mark Enright, of the University of Bath, said: "Neutrophils are really the front line against infections in the blood and the use of nicotinamide seems safe at this dose to use in patients as it is already licensed for use.

"This could cause a major change in treatment for infections alongside conventional antibiotics to help bolster patients immune system.

"I would like to see in patient clinical trials but cannot see why this couldn't be used straight away in infected patients."

And for the long time metformin users [the very low cost generic *aspirin* for diabetics, type II], but vitamin B is depleted substantially from the body with all it knock on effects to the general health. B-Complex supplements is advised, but consult your doctor at all times (Mine is a first reaction handwaver to novel patient input, but will take presented literature and read up)!

Something new (or new to me) from Nature.com. Pick a DNA topic and then read the papers connected to it. Novel idea.

African spiny mice can regrow lost skin

"The researchers say that their next step will be to work out the molecular mechanisms and genetic circuits that direct the regeneration process."

Sounds like a possible DC candidate to me. confused

Re: Interesting Medical News (Non-WCG Related Projects)

I remember when this paper came out with huge claims a new kind of life and news conferences with Felisa Wolfe-Simon in the spotlight. After a couple of years of peer-review and further research, it appears the original claims do not hold up to scrutiny.

“A bacterium that some scientists thought could use arsenic in place of phosphorus in its DNA actually goes to extreme lengths to grab any traces of phosphorus it can find.”

The [Western] health is as good as the [processed] food you ingest. This is one item richly used in our Italian kitchen: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-19869666 ... tomato, tomatoes.
