Error returned

I just got my first error return in over 400 work units, can anybody tell me what might have happened?

Re: Error returned

plz see this post: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/printpost?post=118347 . It has a link to a FAQ discussing that particular error. If you go back in your mind, you may remember of any updates applied to your system in the last 24 hours. Start at the bottom of the FAQ list with point 5/6, resetting the project the easiest of them all.

Re: Error returned

Hello Sekerob

I followed the link and read the FAQ, I don't think my problem is any of the items listed, and I have not updated anything in a while.

Also the error was on a HPF2 work unit and I reported another one with no problems with in the last 24 hours.

I can reset the project but that will wipe out 7 work units, which I really would rather not do, 4 of them are FAAH's which we are trying to get completed.

Anyways I got another HPF2 due to report in less than 2 hours I will see what happens after that, unless you have any other suggestions.

Re: Error returned

Well, sit back and watch if it occurs again, but intermittent hardware failures and some testing of RAM as suggested 'at the bottom of the list' may identify a lingering problem.

As for resetting, simply suspend all the tasks except the one in progress. After finishing that, send the completed unit back, check the result status page if the unit is fine and do a project reset. All work not started will be resend to your computer so is the theory.

Re: Error returned

Thanks for the help Sekerob.

My last HPF2 just went through fine, could be I just got a single bad unit on the last one.

As I said this was my first bad work unit so I think I will wait to see if it happens again, hopefully it won't.
