as far as i know the min cpu requirements for any projects that are active as of now require a p2 550+
13 of my machines are shut down for this fact...


Ron, time to get some of those out of mothballs.
I have a P2-450 that works just fine with all BOINC based WCG projects. Just make sure there is plenty of RAM and disk space.
And as acpartsman indicated, he has a p-200 also crunching.

A lot of RAM is better, but a slightly less optimal method is to goose the virtual memory (disk) WAY up. Machines with only 128 Mb of RAM have successfully crunched with at least 1.5 Gb of swap space.

Yes, I know that GC was great for small machines and the current two are not quite as optimal. Hopefully something will work. A 500 MHz 512Mb Win98 machine is doing a little bit of BOINC work, so those speeds are not cast in kryptonite.
