'show graphics' button doesn't work

I'm running Debian Linux, kernel 2.6.21-amd64 (just in case the kernel version is of any significance at all) and the 'Show graphics' button does not do anything. Is there a package I must first install for this to work? I've installed the latest Nvidia graphics drivers, so hardware acceleration is enabled.

Any ideas why this button is not functioning as it should?
Thanks

Re: 'show graphics' button doesn't work

Hello bathat,
BOINC 5 requires the graphics to be inserted into the application program. BOINC 6 will run a separate graphics thread, which will require much reprogramming to work. What I have heard is that AutoDock 2007 will have graphics in the MAC versions. I have not heard anything about graphics in the Linux applications. I suspect that hearing nothing means that nothing is to be expected in the near future.

Re: 'show graphics' button doesn't work

Thanks for your help, lawrence. It's no biggie... I was just curious why it refused to work. In simple mode, the manager doesn't display any graphics either--just the BOINC logo.

Seems a bit peculiar that Macs will eventually have graphics implemented and Windows, of course, already does, while Linux is left hanging. It seems to me like many of the users would be running the client under Linux anyway. I'm probably wrong though. After all, Windows does have a monopoly.

HPF2 has no graphics in it's latest version for Linux http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12909
, but am sure FA@H already has AFAIK.

knreed said nothing about this weekend beta graphics for specific platforms.... they were going to be rotatable (like FA@H on BOINC already is) and zoomable:

My version number is 5.10.8 by the way; downloaded from the Debian package repository. Hmm, I wonder when there's going to be another beta graphics round...
