I am receiving an 'unable to connect to core client' error, my computer is working normally, what is the problem? You should at some extra information else we can't help you. What is your operating system? What is your version of UD or Boinc? Do you always get that error? |

Hi John Thirlwell,
----------------------------------------Add to s060319's questions: - Can you see a BOINC.exe or UD.exe running in the Task Manager and a WCGxxxxxxxxxxxxx process? Most Likely it's the security settings. At any rate, regardless the agent, but most likely BOINC given the specific warning, visit the Vista FAQ in the Start Here forum in which the items are explained that need fixing on any Windows system. Point 8 and point 6 in that order may help things along. Read a few days ago, that if you have Zone Alarm (possibly other firewalls as well), best was to exit BOINC, remove any exception rules for BOINC in ZA and start BOINC. ZA should give you warnings as to what exceptions need to be given "permanently". Added: Seeing you opened a second thread on same in the BOINC support forum, i've asked nelsoc to lock that thread to avoid duplication of effort: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15506
