Not sure if this the place to ask this, but here goes...
At Grid.org, we had a thread on CPU comparisons which was extremely handy to check if our particular systems were functioning at their fullest and not bogged down due to extraneous programs running in the background. I'm using BOINC and every so often I see a CPU benchmark section in the log file. Is it possible to use these Whetstone and Dhrystone figures to compare individual systems, and would others find this beneficial? If so, which forum would be the place to start? Apologies if this has already been attempted. I didn't find any info in the active threads. |

The information on boincstats should give you more complete and reliable CPU information than you ever dreamed of at grid.

Unfortunately, that doesn't tell me if my systems are working to their capabilities, unless the credit score is based on specific components. If so, where can I find the formula?
A real-world CPU score of some type is great for making comparisons. And, of course, bragging rights for those with the uber-fast machines. |
