Access to reference site failed - check network connection or proxy configuration. This means BOINC can't reach the outside world at all. Do you use a proxy? Since all your computers have the same error, it is very likely (but not certain) that the problem is with your network configuration. If you changed your firewall or proxy configuration recently, that should be your first suspect. If you have no clue where to begin, there are some http debugging flags you can turn on. I'm going to nap now, so I will leave you in the excellent hands of my colleagues. |

the 2 pcs in? are having windows xp pro reinstalled....
theese are used pcs of others given to me for new builds that i have done for them....who knows what someone else borked up...lol plan to use boinc... in time i will try to use boinc on the other pcs with paused agent... even the pc that has been using boinc for 2 months is still having probs with the servers it hasnt in several hours now though.... any other advise; suggestions are appreciated... anyone that is crunching with low requirement pcs for something else i would like to know what. |

Ron, did you or did not not try to fire up a webbrowser on those machines that show the "Access to reference site failed" to visit www.google.com?

hi,
i have the same problem. I can't connect to the server. I have a router. I dont know wether it's necessary. No Firewall. It's just the only programm where i have problems to connect the internet. |

what operating system
----------------------------------------what BOINC version how much free physical RAM please exit BOINC, restart and copy / paste the first 15 lines of the message log. Do you use a proxy? Did you process any WCG project before with BOINC?
