Re: idle pc,s

Access to reference site failed - check network connection or proxy configuration.

This means BOINC can't reach the outside world at all. Do you use a proxy? Since all your computers have the same error, it is very likely (but not certain) that the problem is with your network configuration.

If you changed your firewall or proxy configuration recently, that should be your first suspect.

If you have no clue where to begin, there are some http debugging flags you can turn on.

I'm going to nap now, so I will leave you in the excellent hands of my colleagues.

Ron, did you or did not not try to fire up a webbrowser on those machines that show the "Access to reference site failed" to visit www.google.com?

Re: idle pc,s

what operating system
what BOINC version
how much free physical RAM

please exit BOINC, restart and copy / paste the first 15 lines of the message log.

Do you use a proxy? Did you process any WCG project before with BOINC?
